Computer was formed from “computare” means to count. The difference between calculator and computer is: computer has system to count by itself but calculator hasn’t. The most important part in computer is :
-Hardware, means the tools that we can see and touch
-Software, means programs in the computer that used to do something as we like
-Brainware, means the user of computer
History of Computer
A. First Generation Computer(1946-1959)
*This type of computer used “stored program” concept
*The program was made by machine language
B. Second Generation Computer(1959-1965)
*This type of computer had already used transistor
*This computer used high language. Ex: FORTRAN, ALGOL(The Algoritamic Langugage)
C. Third Generation Computer(1965-1970)
*This computer used IC(Intergrated Circuit) that content Hybird Intergrates Circuit and
Monolhitic Intergrated Circuits
D. Fourth Generation Computer(1970-1980)
*This computer are used thousands of IC that became one chip called LSI(Large Scale
Intregration) or BLSI(Bipolar Large Scale Intregration)
E. Fifth Generation Computer(1980-until now)
*This computer uses this ULSI from the development of BLSI
The most important hardware in computer is motherboard that the function is for linking all units of computer.
2 other hardwares in CPU that important for computer!
-Heatsink and fan, is used to cool down another hardware
- Power Supply, is used to change electric tension AC to electric tension DC +3, 3V, +5V, +12V dan -12V match with.
